Cold is one of the oldest stimuli known to humankind. Cryotherapy turns this stimulus into a controlled and safe experience lasting a few minutes.
What is it?
Whole-body cryotherapy means exposing the body briefly to very cold, dry air in a special cabin called a cryo chamber. The application lasts only a few minutes, and because the air is dry, the cold feels very different from getting into icy water.
Sudden, short-lived cold is a powerful hormetic stimulus that activates the body’s defence and adaptation mechanisms. Blood circulation, the nervous system and brown adipose tissue are among the systems that respond to it.

How is it applied?
Before the first session, your physician assesses your health. Your blood pressure is measured before each session. You enter the chamber dry, wearing special equipment that protects your hands, feet and ears. Our specialist stays with you throughout and is in constant contact with you. In the first sessions, the duration is kept shorter and the temperature milder.
What happens in a session?
A session usually lasts two to three minutes. At first you feel an intense chill; most people speak of a sense of freshness and vitality at the end. After leaving the chamber, the session is completed with a short warm-up and movement sequence.
Who is it considered for?
It may be considered for those who want to support their recovery after intense physical activity, adults who feel tired and sluggish, and those who want to adapt gradually to the cold as part of a programme based on hormesis.
Points to note
In conditions such as uncontrolled high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, cold hypersensitivity such as Raynaud’s syndrome, cold allergy, pregnancy, epilepsy and acute infection, the application is not performed or is subject to a physician’s approval.

Frequently asked questions
How long does cryotherapy take?
About 30 minutes (2–3 minutes in the chamber). The exact duration is planned by our team according to your assessment and programme.
When and how are the results of cryotherapy reviewed?
Adaptive capacity is monitored throughout the sessions and assessed at the end of the programme. Your results are always reviewed with a specialist physician, in clear and understandable language.
Is any preparation needed for cryotherapy?
Skin must be dry, jewellery is removed and special equipment is provided. We send you the necessary preparation instructions before your appointment.
Who is cryotherapy not suitable for?
Eligibility is always determined by a physician’s assessment. In conditions such as pregnancy, cardiovascular disease and uncontrolled chronic illness, some applications are not performed or require a physician’s approval.
