Where it hurts is not always where the problem started. Osteopathy treats the body as an interconnected structure and reads these connections with the hands.
What is it?
Osteopathy is a manual therapy discipline that assesses the musculoskeletal system, the connective tissue known as fascia, and their relationship with the circulatory and nervous systems as a whole. Its basic premise is that there is a close relationship between the body’s structure and its function: a restriction in structure also affects function.
Manual therapy is the general term for hands-on techniques that support joint mobility and soft-tissue flexibility. In our clinic, the two approaches are used together.

How is it applied?
In the first session, your osteopath listens to your complaint, your daily routine and any past injuries. They then assess your posture, range of motion and tissue tension by hand. Treatment consists of gentle methods such as soft-tissue techniques, joint mobilisation and fascial techniques, and proceeds at a pace that suits you.
What happens in a session?
Sessions take place in comfortable clothing in a quiet room and usually last 45–60 minutes. You can always say what you feel during treatment. Simple exercises to do at home may be suggested after the session.
Who is it considered for?
It may be considered for people who work long hours at a desk, those with recurring lower back, neck and back complaints, those with posture problems and those who want to regain their movement capacity. In our clinic, osteopathy is approached together with the perspective of clinical psycho-neuro-immunology.
Points to note
Certain techniques are not used in conditions such as recent fractures, acute infections, advanced osteoporosis and some vascular diseases. For this reason, a detailed assessment is carried out before every treatment.
