Imagine for a moment that you are gliding over the Alps. That is exactly what you do on ICAROS — while actually working your body’s deepest muscles.
What is it?
ICAROS Health is a training system that combines a moving platform with virtual reality. You lie on the platform or stand with support. All you need to do to steer the game on the screen or in the virtual reality headset is move your body and keep your balance.
These seemingly simple movements simultaneously work the deep abdominal and back muscles that support the spine, the balance system and the coordination between the brain and the muscles.

How is it applied?
Your physiotherapist first assesses your balance and core capacity, then sets the programme and game level that suit you. The platform is designed to place a low load on the joints, so it can be adapted for people of different ages and fitness levels.
What happens in a session?
Sessions are guided by your physiotherapist and usually consist of short, intense blocks. Thanks to the immersive nature of the game, you often don’t notice the time passing. As the level of difficulty increases, the tasks change too.
Who is it considered for?
Suitable for those with posture problems from desk work, those who want to strengthen their back and lower back, older people who want to maintain their balance and coordination, and those who have grown bored of conventional exercise.
Points to note
For those who experience dizziness with virtual reality, the training can be done without the headset, using the screen. In acute spinal problems and conditions that impair balance, the programme is adapted according to the physician’s and physiotherapist’s assessment.
